7 Staffing Myths In the Children’s Services Sector

Myth 2: You have to give 3 warnings before terminating the services of a staff member.

Not true. An employer doesn’t have to give their employee 3 warnings, or even 1! However, an employer should always give the employee a chance to understand, explain and fix any performance issues. This means you are always supporting Educators whilst creating a high performing service. Warnings should only be used as a last resort and after extensive coaching, mentoring, training, and an opportunity to clarify expectations. Remember a high performance culture is one where you create a work environment, which supports Educators strengths and allows them to thrive.
